Dan A. Chila is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Sun Bancorp, Inc. and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sun National Bank. He is responsible for overseeing all functions of the company’s financial division, including financial reporting and accounting systems, financial planning, policies and controls, as well as directing bank investments and treasury activities. Mr. Chila also oversees the bank’s Branch Network and Delivery Administration Department.
Mr. Chila brings 30 years of senior financial leadership experience in commercial banking, financial management, strategic planning and change-management expertise to his position with Sun. Prior to joining the bank in 2000, he served as Senior Vice President and CFO for Peoples Bancorp, Inc. in Lawrenceville, NJ, the holding company for Trenton Savings Bank FSB. He also previously was affiliated with CoreStates Financial Corporation from 1984 to 1998, where he served as Senior Financial Manager of the Retail Division, Senior Vice President and CFO for CoreStates/First Pennsylvania Bank, Senior Vice President and CFO for CoreStates/New Jersey National Bank, Senior Vice President and CFO for New Jersey National Corporation and New Jersey National Bank, and Senior Vice President and CFO for Citizens Bancorp and Citizens United Bank (acquired by New Jersey National Bank in October 1984).
Mr. Chila earned a bachelor of science in Accounting from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA, and is a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
His professional affiliations and activities include memberships in the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Chila also is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Salesianum School, an independent Catholic secondary school for boys in Wilmington, DE. He also serves as a member of the President’s Advisory Council of his alma mater, LaSalle University. |
