Dale Wallis is vice president, chief financial officer, and treasurer of The Aerospace Corporation. Wallis joined Aerospace in 1996 and served in a variety of finance roles prior to being elected to his current position, which he has held since January 1, 2001. Wallis is responsible for finance, budgeting, contract administration, procurement, treasury, and risk management.
Before joining Aerospace, Wallis was vice president of administration and chief financial officer for COMPS Infosystems, Inc., a real estate information services company. Before that he was director of finance for Mycogen Corporation, a publicly held, international, agricultural biotech company. In these positions Wallis was responsible for finance, tax, human resources, information technology, and merger and acquisition activities.
Prior to his experience at COMPS and Mycogen, Wallis was in senior management at CPA firms Ernst & Young and KPMG. He also served as a partner in a local CPA firm in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and held internal audit positions at American Airlines.
Wallis formerly was a member of the faculty at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, and has held adjunct faculty positions at Oklahoma State University and other universities.
Wallis is active in Financial Executives International (FEI), where he serves on the board of directors, is chair of the Committee on Government Business, and is a member of the Committee on Benefit Financing. He also is a member of the American Institute of CPAs. In addition, Wallis serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the College of Business at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, and on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Business at California State University, Dominguez Hills. Over the years, Wallis has served on the boards of many civic and charitable organizations. He was twice his party’s nominee for state auditor in Oklahoma.
Wallis holds bachelor’s and master’s of science degrees in accounting from Oklahoma State University and has pursued post-graduate studies at the University of Oklahoma. He lives in Manhattan Beach, California, with his wife, Louise. |
