Daan de Roos joined Heidrick & Struggles in 1997. He focuses on international search work in the fields of energy, utilities, chemicals, natural resources, paper and packaging.
Prior to joining the firm, Daan had been with NV Royal KNP BT since 1991, where his last position was as a member of the Executive Board of the Packaging Sector. His tenure there was during a time of significant upheaval in Europe, due to new environmental legislation. In this role, Daan acquired an array of experiences in the paper, solid and corrugated board and packaging markets.
Between 1976 and 1991, Daan held commercial, recruiting and general management positions at Royal Dutch/Shell in the Netherlands, Brazil, Curacao, the Bahamas and Ecuador. During this period, he was active in a variety of oil and chemical markets, both in sales and marketing, and in international supply/shipping and trading.
As a recruiter, he was responsible for finding and attracting high-potential graduates for the international career stream. As General Manager of Shell Ecuador, he set up an oil and chemicals sales company, and was involved in developing opportunities for oil exploration and gold mining.
Education
Daan holds a law degree from the University of Leiden.
