D. S. Kim is president DuPont Asia Pacific. He started with DuPont in 1987 in Korea.
From 1973 to 1983, Mr. Kim worked for Dow Chemical in R&D, manufacturing and project management in the U.S. and Korea. In 1984, Mr. Kim joined Han Yang Chemical Corporation (currently Han Hwa Chemical) in Korea and held various technical and management positions before joining DuPont.
At DuPont, Mr. Kim served as project leader for the titanium dioxide project in Korea; assistant plant manager at New Johnsonville, Tenn.; site manager at Ulsan, Korea, later adding responsibility as business director for Butacite® and then DuPont Automotive in Asia Pacific. He then transferred back to the United States as the global operations director for DuPont Fluoroproducts, and in 1997 he became vice president and general manager DuPont Nonwovens. He was named president, DuPont Asia Pacific in October 1998. He also serves as the chairman of DuPont Korea.
