Cynthia Fair focuses her practice on representing management before federal and state courts and administrative agencies with regard to all aspects of employment and labor law.
Ms. Fair has significant experience defending employers against wage and hour class actions, including claims for meal and rest period violations and employee misclassification. Ms. Fair's experience also includes matters arising under employment discrimination statutes and other common-law and statutory employment lawsuits such as discrimination, harassment, breach of contract and wrongful termination. She regularly counsels employers regarding disciplinary matters, internal investigations, and ensuring compliance with applicable law. She has also represented clients in business litigation and insurance litigation matters relating to individual and group life, health and disability polices, insurance bad faith and ERISA litigation.
Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Fair interned for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Boston, Massachusetts. Ms. Fair is the author of Burlington Industries, Inc. v. Ellerth and Faragher v. Boca Raton: A Step in the Wrong Direction? 9 B.U. Pub. Int. L. J. 409 (2000).
Ms. Fair received her B.A. in Psychology in 1997 from the University of California, Los Angeles. She earned her J.D. in 2000 from Boston University School of Law, where she was a Note Editor of the Public Interest Law Journal.
