Dr. Kanik practices patent law in the fields of biotechnology and chemistry, having extensive experience in patent preparation and prosecution, infringement and validity opinions, due diligence evaluations and licensing. Her technical specialties include molecular and cellular biology, oncology, protein and peptide chemistry and small molecule drug development.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE
Dr. Kanik's doctoral research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Institute focused on the role of protein phosphorylation in cell-cycle control, and her post-doctoral research at Harvard University examined the role of DNA topoisomerases in DNA replication and cell division. Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Kanik was a patent attorney at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. She was also a patent agent at Fish & Richardson and a patent agent at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. |
