Curtis W. Hayes, M.D. is Professor of Radiology and Director of Musculoskeletal Radiology at VCU Medical Center, Medical College of Virginia. Following undergraduate education at Princeton University, Dr. Hayes obtained his M.D. from the New Jersey Medical School. He completed residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at Harvard / Boston Beth Israel Hospital, and a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a Fellow in the American College of Radiology, and is an active member in numerous radiological societies, including the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, Society of Skeletal Radiology, and International Skeletal Society. Dr. Hayes has co-authored 83 scientific articles, 8 book chapters, and 44 scientific and educational exhibits. He is on the editorial board or reviewer for numerous scientific journals. A former Figley Fellow in Radiologic Journalism, Dr. Hayes also served as Deputy Editor of Radiology. He has a variety of musculoskeletal research interests, including cartilage disorders, osteonecrosis, metabolic bone disease, trauma, interventional procedures of bone, digital radiography, and PACS development.
Dr. Hayes resides outside Richmond, Virginia, where he enjoys tennis, golf, and evening walks with his wife, Nancy, and black lab, Ernie.
