Mr. Bernstein’s national practice specializes in providing valuation, transaction advisory, strategic and operational consulting services to clients. He has extensive experience working closely with ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), hospital systems, physician groups, and other healthcare providers. Mr. Bernstein specializes in providing valuation services in the areas of business valuation and complex compensation structures including per-click leases and under arrangement agreements.
During his tenure at HealthCare Appraisers, Mr. Bernstein held the position of adjunct professor of financial analysis at Florida Atlantic University where he taught undergraduate students accounting and finance theory and their application in determining the value of a business. Mr. Bernstein also served on the finance committee of a 65-bed rural acute care hospital where he assisted the hospital in making financial decisions related to physician-hospital joint ventures, budgets, insurance, and state funding matters.
Prior to joining HealthCare Appraisers, Mr. Bernstein held the position of assistant controller at a 391-bed general acute care hospital where he directed the daily operations of the accounting department, overseeing the hospital’s operating budget, capital budget, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll processes. Prior to his time at the hospital, Mr. Bernstein was a senior accountant with a publicly traded pathology company overseeing the financial operations of their southeastern division.
Mr. Bernstein is a candidate member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and is currently pursuing the designation of Accredited Senior Appraiser in business valuation. |
