Cristian Santesteban is a Vice President at Competition Policy Associates, an economics consulting firm, where he specializes in antitrust economics and industrial organization. Dr. Santesteban has performed economic analysis on a broad range of complex issues in antitrust, regulatory, policy, and litigation matters for corporations and public-sector entities. These engagements have involved mergers and other economic matters in a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, music, media, beverages, medical devices, and wireline and wireless telecommunications. Dr. Santesteban has first hand trial experience both in assisting counsel in the cross-examination of opposing experts and in preparing experts for testimony.
Prior to starting at COMPASS, Dr. Santesteban worked as an independent consultant alongside Stanford University faculty and as a staff economist at the Council of Economic Advisers in the Executive Office of the President. Dr. Santesteban has also been a lecturer in the Economics Department at Stanford University. He received a Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University, was a Jean Dufrenoy Fellow at the Université de Paris X, and graduated with High Honors in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. |
