Cris Kling began her career with Otter Tail Power Company in 1994 as Senior Communications Specialist in the Corporate Communications Department. She advanced to Supervisor Corporate Communications and then to Manager Corporate Communications. In 2002 she was named to her present position of Director Public Relations. In this capacity she is accountable for legislative strategy and implementation as well as all external and internal communications including media relations branding advertising and web strategy.
Kling is a native of Devils Lake North Dakota. She earned her bachelor of science degree in English and education from Moorhead State University graduating summa cum laude. She earned her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of St. Thomas St. Paul Minnesota in 1995.
Before joining Otter Tail Power Company Kling taught English at the Fergus Falls Middle School for 14 years and she was named Minnesota Middle Level Educator of the Year in 1993. |
