EXPERIENCE
Rio Chama Petroleum, Inc. ( December, 1996 – Present )
President of small independent oil and gas company. Succeeded in doubling company size within three years while maintaining shareholder distributions. Locate and evaluate additional properties for acquisition. Identify wells for workovers, recompletions and other production enhancements. Identified coalbed methane prospects on existing acreage and effected workover to establish production from same. Currently pursuing other coalbed methane workovers and drilling opportunities in existing wellbores and on existing acreage.
Consultant ( June, 1996 – May, 2001 )
Evaluated several coalbed methane projects in Raton Basin, New Mexico and Colorado, Powder River Basin, Wyoming and the UK. Evaluations consisted of acquisitions and subsequent development programs.
Cawley, Gillespie & Associates, Inc., Executive Vice President (January 1992 – April, 1996)
Involved in the estimation and audit of oil and gas reserves, the forecast of these reserves and their resulting future cash flow, and the estimation of the value of the reserves. This involved the application of petroleum reservoir and production engineering techniques, as well as the estimation and utilization of various economic parameters such as oil prices, gas prices, and operating expenses. Instrumental in getting company involved in coalbed methane evaluations which grew to be over one third of company workload. Personally performed coalbed methane reservoir studies, performance evaluations, gas-in-place estimates, log analysis, reserve and economic evaluation, drainage studies, plans for drilling. Interfaced with clients on a daily basis. Involved in the writing and designing of the custom software used within the firm. Have performed numerous reservoir simulations on oil and gas fields located both in the Continental U.S. and over 20 countries. Personally evaluated over 5,000 coalbed methane wells and/or projects in over 13 countries. Opened and operated company’s first international office in London. Conducted course in coalbed methane evaluation at Imperial College.
Cawley, Gillespie & Associates, Inc., Senior Vice President (January 1989 - December 1991)
Estimation of oil and gas reserves, forecasts, future cash flow, value estimation of the reserves. Performed reserve audits, and supplied various reports to financial institutions. Evaluation of coalbed methane reserves. Prepared various field studies for optimization of reserve depletion and economic investment criteria.
Cawley, Gillespie & Associates, Inc., Vice President (January 1988 - December 1988)
Estimation of oil and gas reserves, forecasts, future cash flow, value estimation of the reserves. Performed reserve audits, and supplied various reports to financial institutions. Prepared various field studies.
Cawley, Gillespie & Associates, Inc., Petroleum Consultant, (October 1976 - Present)
Joined firm in October 1976. Assisted senior engineers with property evaluations, performed reservoir simulation studies; prepared evaluations for acquisitions. Company Principal since 1980.
Sun Oil Company, Production/Reservoir Engineer, Richardson, Texas and Lafayette, Louisiana (May 1974 - October 1976)
Involved in the daily operations of a major field located in southern Louisiana. Responsible for maintaining the producing rates and for identifying, recommending compiling workovers and recompletions. Was transferred to the Richardson Reservoir Simulations Lab to work on the reservoir description and mathematical simulation of several of Sun Oil’s major fields.
