Craig Chiang represents financial institutions, corporations, and fiduciaries in all aspects of insolvency and bankruptcy situations. Mr. Chiang has extensive experience protecting the interests of technology companies in the context of asset sales, software license assignments, preferential/fraudulent transfer actions, and other unique challenges that technology companies face in bankruptcy proceedings. In addition, Mr. Chiang counsels banks, credit unions, and lenders in distressed debt situations involving numerous types of collateral, including real estate, accounts, personal property, and other commercial interests. Mr. Chiang also represents bankruptcy trustees in all aspects of chapter 7 cases, including documenting sales and litigating commercial claims.
Mr. Chiang currently serves as a committee member of the Financial Institutions Committee of the California State Bar and recently served as the chairperson of the Barristers Club, Business and Commercial Law Section of the San Francisco Bar Association. Mr. Chiang is a member of the California State Bar, and has represented clients in insolvency matters throughout the United States.
Prior to joining the Financial Solutions Group of Buchalter Nemer in 2001, Mr. Chiang served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Leslie Tchaikovsky in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California.
Mr. Chiang graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1995 (Bachelor of Arts, Economics and Political Science) and from the University of San Francisco in 2000 (Juris Doctor).
