Craig Scott, a partner of the firm, concentrates his practice in complex business litigation with a focus on intellectual property law.
Mr. Scott's practice encompasses patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, domain name disputes, licensing and non-compete cases. He also represents clients in various areas of emerging technology, environmental, construction, trust and fiduciary law, real property matters and other business disputes.
Work for Clients
Mr. Scott devotes a substantial amount of his practice to intellectual property litigation. He serves as lead trial counsel in patent, trademark and copyright cases involving various types of technologies, consumer products and software architecture.
Mr. Scott represents clients before various tribunals in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and federal courts throughout the country, including New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, Virginia and California. He also appears before the Patent and Trademark Office's Trademark Trial and Appeals Board.
Professional Activities and Honors
Mr. Scott teaches seminars on patent, trademark, copyright and Internet law. He is listed in the current editions of Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers and Woodward/White Inc.'s Best Lawyers in America. He has been named as one of the top lawyers in Rhode Island (Intellectual Property category) by Rhode Island Monthly magazine and is included in the current editions of New England Super Lawyers where he was also recognized as a top intellectual property attorney in the Corporate Counsel edition. He is a Director of The Providence and Worcester Railroad Company. He is a member of the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association, the American Bar Association (member, sections on: Intellectual Property Law, Litigation) and an associate member of the International Trademark Association.
