Mr. Smith is responsible for the oversight of all activities and operations of Tiedemann Trust Company, as well as the creation of tailored trust and tax strategies for Tiedemann clients and the development of related trust and investment products.
Craig joined Tiedemann Trust Company in February of 2000 as Managing Director, Trust Planning and Administration and served as such until his appointment as President in March of 2004. Prior to joining Tiedemann Trust Company, Craig was Vice President of J.P. Morgan & Co., most recently heading J.P. Morgan's trust, estate and transfer tax planning services for New England private clients. Craig's other roles at J.P. Morgan included serving as a Fiduciary Manager and as a founding member of J.P. Morgan's Strategic Asset Allocation group. Prior to joining JP Morgan in 1992, Craig practiced trust and estate law with Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler, a New York law firm. Throughout his career, Craig has been a frequent lecturer and author on tax and estate planning subjects, as well as related investment topics.
Craig received a B.A. from New York University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. |
