Cord unites the power of technology and marketing to help clients not only reach their audiences but rouse and engage them. To deliver the best results, he explores and integrates any possible combination of online and offline tactics, from Webcasts and social networking to viral and word-of-mouth marketing. Loaded with sales, marketing and interactive experience, he brings just the right skill set to lead our engagement marketing service. Cord has pioneered integrated marketing for more than 15 years. Forward-thinking companies look to him for creative ways to build their business, and he responds with bottom-line results. For instance, he increased traffic to verizonwireless.com by tenfold with an online media buy and a viral marketing campaign. While at MetLife, he launched the insurance company’s first ecommerce initiative, generating more than $5 million in the first six months. As technology gives consumers more control of how they are marketed to, Cord insists on helping clients listen to their customers and act on that feedback. As the manager of IBM’s online store, he developed analytics to track the success of its online marketing campaigns. It’s that kind of aggressive, two-way communication that Cord champions. Previously vice president of client services and operations at MarketSmart Interactive in Raleigh, Cord developed online marketing programs for clients such as Lowes Home Improvement, Motorola, CitiFinancial and Black & Decker. He also established the agency’s online media buying division, managing $1 million each month. Early in his career as an online program manager for Dell Computers, he launched the first-generation consumer ecommerce store for dell.com that produced $1 million per day within six months and $10 million per day within two years. As testament to his ingenuity, he shares a U.S. patent with Dell Computer Corporation for an online personalization tool. At his first job with Grey Interactive, he developed the first interactive makeup finder for Revlon, increasing sales by more than 50%. Cord earned his bachelor’s of arts degree from Hofstra University where he majored in creative writing but had the forethought to minor in computer science.
