Cor Herkstroter was President of Royal Dutch Petroleum Company and Chairman of the Committee of Managing Directors of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group. He was appointed to the Supervisory Board of ING Group in May 1998. Mr. Herkstroter became chairman of the Supervisory Board in May 1999
