Colleen Rea focuses her practice on labor and employment law litigation, including cases involving discrimination (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA), wrongful termination, harassment and other alleged violations of state and federal law. In addition, she advises clients on day-to-day labor and employment law matters, including workplace violence issues; drafts and revises employee handbooks and policy and procedure manuals; and provides advice on compliance with federal and state statutes and policies. Colleen also conducts management training seminars for clients on liability risk avoidance, workplace violence and other labor and employment law issues, and the internal investigation of discrimination claims. Where appropriate, she utilizes various forms of alternative dispute resolution to assist clients in minimizing legal fees, expenses and liability risk exposure. Prior to joining Ford & Harrison, Colleen held trial attorney positions in private practice, as Corporate Counsel at US WEST, Inc., and as a state and county prosecutor.
Colleen is admitted to practice law in Arizona and Colorado. She is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations and served as Co-chair of the Colorado Bar Association Court Reform Committee (1999-2002). She has been a Member of the Colorado Bar Association Court Reform Committee (1997-1999); a Member of the Colorado Bar Association Multi-Disciplinary Task Force (1999-2002); a Member of the Denver Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee (1997-1999); a Member of the United States District Court Advisory Committee on Arbitration (1994); a Member of Arizona State Bar Civil Practice and Procedure Committee (1986-1992); and a Member of the Maricopa County Superior Judges Civil Study Committee (1988-1991).
