Colleen Baime is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Chicago office. She is a member of the Firm’s Trial Department, the Environmental Practice Group and the Asbestos Litigation Practice Group. Her practice focuses on toxic torts, general commercial disputes, class action litigation and a broad range of environmental matters. Colleen defends numerous large corporations in complex and/or multi-jurisdictional toxic tort matters, including asbestos and petroleum exposure cases.
Colleen has experience representing clients in judicial and administrative proceedings before federal, state and local courts and agencies. She represents corporations in class action defense, traditional contract disputes and insurance matters.
In addition, Colleen represents and advises clients regarding compliance with environmental and health and safety statutes and regulations. Her practice involves all areas of environmental law, including toxic torts, hazardous waste, the risk management program under the Clean Air Act, underground storage tanks, permitting, voluntary and mandated clean-ups, and insurance coverage issues. She represents owners, operators and generators at Superfund Sites in both government enforcement actions and private party litigation.
Colleen represents purchasers, sellers and lenders in connection with environmental and OSHA issues in real estate and commercial transactions.
While in law school, Colleen served as an editor of the Stanford Law & Policy Review and was a member of the Stanford Law Review. She is admitted to practice in Illinois.
