Lieutenant General Colby M. Broadwater III is the Chief of Staff, Headquarters, United States European Command, Stuttgart, Germany. He assumed his present position on 2 August 2004. Lieutenant General Broadwater was commissioned as an artillery officer in 1972. His military education includes the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, the Armor Officer Advance Course, the Army Command and General Staff College, and the Naval War College. He holds a Masters of Art Degree in International Relations from Salve Regina University and a Bachelors of Art Degree from The Citadel. His military service includes three tours in Europe and a wide variety of assignments in the United States.
