Mr. Schorer is Director of the Columbia University Greenhouse Program and is a professor at Columbia Business School. Mr. Schorer's focus is on businesses with unique ideas or technologies that require energy and guidance during their initial growth phases. Companies previously started or acquired by him include Micromedia Applied Technologies, Express Office Products, Real Estate Development Corporation and a variety of enterprises ranging from medical electronics to video production. He served as CEO and President of GeoVideo Networks, a Lucent Technologies Venture, until the company was sold in 2001. GeoVideo employed a vast fiber optic network for the hosting and transport of broadband video applications directly to the desktop. The venture, founded by Cliff, was funded by Lucent along with venture capital from Thomas Weisel Partners and Crest Holdings.In 1993 he joined Columbia University's faculty as an Adjunct Professor teaching both Introduction to and Launching New Ventures. He serves as faculty advisor to the Eugene M. Lang Fund and in 1999 initiated the Greenhouse Program. In July of 2001, he accepted a full time position at the Columbia University as an Entrepreneur in Residence.Mr. Schorer serves in a consultative capacity to global corporations including Lucent Technologies, AT&T, and Glaxo SmithKline, Forbes, and Sony.
