Mr. Williams is Chairman of the Board, President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of CWEI, having served in such capacities since September 1991. Mr. Williams drilled his first successful oil well in 1959. Since that time, Mr. Williams or his affiliates have been involved in the discovery and/or development of oil and gas in many different fields in Texas, New Mexico and the Southeastern United States. Mr. Williams and his affiliates were also instrumental in the discovery of prolific deep gas fields in West Texas. In addition to the oil and gas business, Mr. Williams has been involved in a broad spectrum of other business enterprises, including gas pipeline operations, ranching, real estate development and management, banking and telecommunications. In 1987, when Mr. Williams sold the assets of Clajon, a company he founded, it was one of the largest privately owned gas pipeline companies in Texas. Mr. Williams received a B.S. degree from Texas A & M University and in 1981 was named a Distinguished Alumnus of that university.
