Clayton Woodard is a Managing Director in Waverly Partners' Charlotte, NC office. In his twenty-one years with Wachovia before joining Waverly Partners, he led groups engaged in a wide range of corporate banking and capital markets activities. In addition to his client-driven responsibilities, Clayton served as a key internal recruiter for Wachovia.

Clayton's search work has included assignments in a wide variety of fields. His functional expertise includes finance, manufacturing operations, general management, information systems, marketing & sales, strategic planning and human resources. He has successfully led assignments to recruit a COO, senior sales and marketing executives, the head of service operations, customer service department leaders, and human resource experts.

As a Managing Director at Wachovia, Clayton led groups responsible for corporate and investment banking in a wide variety of industries. His clients have spanned industries as diverse as broadcasting/media, computer hardware, computer software, distribution, financial services, industrial manufacturing, retailing, semiconductors, medical devices, and textiles/apparel. His past group's client list includes Spartan Communications, Hewlett-Packard, Computer Associates, Agilent, Wal-Mart Stores, Intel, many money center and regional banks, Liberty Corp., Springs Industries, Gateway, Food Lion, Sara Lee, Baxter, Kemet, McDonald's, AVX/Kyocera, Crown Crafts, Adobe Systems, GTE, Winn-Dixie Stores, Shoney's, Russell Corp., W. W. Grainger, NCR, Brown-Forman, Cisco Systems, Thomas Industries, Vermont American, Rust-o-leum and many others.

Before joining Wachovia, he obtained his M.B.A. at the Darden School, University of Virginia, and has a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Children's Law Center in Charlotte. He has held Series 7, 63, and 24 securities licenses.
