Claus Clausen was elected as a new director of Statoil in June 2006 and serves as an employee-elected representative to the board. He has been deputy leader of the Norwegian Society of Engineers (Nito) since 2003 and he headed its company branch in Stavanger from 1999-2006. A qualified engineer from Bergen College of Engineering, Mr Clausen joined Statoil in 1991. During his first years at Statoil he worked with training simulators and processes at Statoil’s Training Centre in Bergen. From 1997-2001 he worked on dynamic simulation in the technology entity in Stavanger. From 2001-04 he worked as process engineer onshore for Statfjord B operations. Mr Clausen now works in Exploration & Production Norway as specialist manager for technical process systems on the Statfjord field. |
