Clark Woodford is responsible for managing Sypherlink’s direct and channel sales organizations and for expanding Sypherlink’s customer and partner base in the enterprise market. Most recently, Mr. Woodford was an executive at Astute Solutions, a contact-center-solutions company in Columbus, Ohio, where he held various positions, including vice president of sales and vice president of business development. Prior to Astute, Mr. Woodford was corporate vice president of business development at Sterling Commerce, a billion-dollar business and subsidiary of AT&T. While with Sterling, he managed the merger-and-acquisition and strategic planning processes for corporate and four divisions. While at Sterling, he completed a dozen acquisitions of companies or products and played a part in the company’s 1996 initial public offering, as well as its sale fours years later to SBC Communications (now AT&T). Mr. Woodford began his career as a marketing representative for IBM in 1969, in Columbus. He joined CompuServe in 1977 and led the growth of that company’s commercial electronic mail and value-added network businesses. As executive vice president of network services, he managed that business from a start-up to a unit with more than $40 million in revenue in a five-year period. Mr. Woodford was also vice president of sales for CheckFree Corporation, with responsibility for growing the commercial business segment, particularly selling to the high-technology online services companies. A graduate of Muskingum College, in New Concord, Ohio, Mr. Woodford earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and education in 1969. |
