Cindy has been a paralegal for over eighteen years, the majority of those years working in the Probate field. She has been at Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty Co., L.P.A., since 1998 after having worked for other firms in Cleveland and Canton.
Cindy is involved in virtually every step of the estate administration process, and has a wide range of experience in dealing both with multi-million dollar estates as well as releases from administration. Since each estate is so unique, her duties vary with each case. Generally, her responsibilities include meeting with clients, drafting the initial probate documents, notifying heirs, devisees, and creditors of the probate proceedings, drafting correspondence, reviewing the decedent’s records, and assisting the executor in collecting other death benefits such as insurance and social security benefits.
She also collects information and assets for preparation of inventory and appraisal, determines the titling of assets, obtains federal tax I.D. number, and notifies taxing authorities of fiduciary capacity. Cindy drafts the estate inventory, maintains financial records of the estate, obtains tax releases, drafts the Ohio and federal estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns, prepares accountings for probate and trusts, assists in the audit of estate tax returns, and makes final distribution of assets.
She received her B.A., in Communications from Mount Union College and her paralegal certification from the Cleveland Paralegal Institute. She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, and an active member of St. Paul’s Church in North Canton where she serves as a Eucharistic Minister. She plays piano and enjoys music, reading, needlecraft, theatre, outdoor sports, and travel.
Cindy and her daughter, Jessica, reside in North Canton. |
