Responsible for
- direct provision of inpatient and outpatient audiology services for infants through adults,
including those patients who are severely impaired and/or difficult-to-test. The bulk of services
are provided to individuals 3 years of age and younger and their families. Services include
history taking; chart reviews; comprehensive diagnostic testing, including immittance testing,
otoacoustic emissions, and ABR screenings for neonates in the intensive care unit; speech
testing; use of normed assessments and questionnaires; analysis and interpretation;
information giving and counseling; amplification/ALD/alerting device assessment,
fittings, monitoring, and repairs; earmold impression taking (for hearing aids, noise protection,
and swimming), fittings, and repairs; and providing aural (re)habilitative services.
- inservicing hospital staff regarding developments in audiology related to the all age groups.
- updating staff on 3rd party payers and referring agency policy changes.
- leading the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening and Early Hearing Detection and
Intervention Programs.
