Todd joined Kronos in August 2007 as a well-rounded executive team member with extensive experience in sales, international operations, corporate development, finance, and analytics. With an undergraduate degree from Harvard, Todd began his career at S.G. Warburg & Co. in 1992 as a financial analyst in its investment banking division where he worked on mergers, divestitures, initial public offerings and, secondary offerings for an international client base.
In 1997, after graduating from Yale's Law School, Todd joined McKinsey & Co. and focused on business strategy, revenue growth, and valuation for clients in the consumer finance and media industries. He managed both McKinsey and client teams, and gained extensive presentation experience before moving on to technology start-up NetGen in 1999. Joining a six-person management team as the director of business development and legal affairs, Todd successfully negotiated a number of partnerships prior to the sale of the company and, as internal legal counsel, Todd also handled all patent, trademark, and privacy issues for NetGen.
In 2000, Todd followed his next career opportunity to Charleston, South Carolina where he played an integral role in the impressive growth of Blackbaud, Inc., a global software and services provider focused on the non-profit market. Starting out as the founding member of the corporate development team, Todd quickly proved his strategic value in the completion of three acquisitions, two strategic additions, and one competitor roll-up.
Todd was named senior vice president of worldwide sales and operations for Blackbaud in 2005. He managed a 200-person domestic sales team with a $140 million annual quota and continued the company's streak of meeting or exceeding Wall Street estimates for nine more quarters. Todd also assumed responsibility for the company's international operations with 70 employees in the United Kingdom and 20 employees in Australia. During his tenure, he became a key member of the executive team that transitioned Blackbaud from an $80+ million private company with $115 million of debt to a publicly traded debt-free company twice the size in less than five years.
With hands-on executive experience at Blackbaud, a $1 billion market capitalization, 250+ million revenue, NASDAQ listed, industry leading software and service company, Todd was a perfect fit to join the Kronos executive team in 2007. Returning to the state of his alma mater as the vice president of professional services for Kronos, Todd is now charged with boosting the breadth and depth of Kronos' professional services offerings as the company strives to become the first $1 billion software company exclusively focused on managing the workforce. |
