Christopher Shawdon was appointed vice president of Logistics Solutions in the Global Transportation Division of Unisys in January 2001. In this position he is responsible for program management and development, which includes overseeing cargo management systems for airlines, ground handlers, forwarders and truckers, both individually and as part of collaborative logistics management groupings. Also, he is responsible for providing the core systems on which global airlines carrying 40 percent of international air freight run their businesses. In addition, Christopher helped Unisys play a leading role in the development of the Cargo 2000 Master Operating Plan for integrated processes within and between air transportation companies.
Prior to joining Unisys, Christopher was the general manager of Air Cargo Community Systems for Syntegra. He led and had profit/loss responsibility for Syntegra's e-commerce supply chain services that served most of the world's top airlines and many global freight forwarders and shippers. He also built up Syntegra's global e-commerce community services and led their work with Cargo 2000.
Before working for Syntegra, Christopher spent 12 years at IBM where he held various sales positions and led IBM's transportation marketing in the United Kingdom. In that position he was responsible for developing and delivering IBM UK's distribution and logistics marketing strategy to drive annual revenues of $108 million. Christopher raised the division's revenues by 31 percent during a two year period.
Christopher worked for Hoskyns (now Cap Gemini) and Whitbread prior to his tenure with IBM and Syntegra. |
