Mr. Devlin serves as Senior Legal Counsel for BAE Systems Ship Repair at its home office in Norfolk, VA, specializing in government and commercial contract law for all Ship Repair business units. In this capacity he is responsible for drafting, negotiating and maintaining teaming and resource agreements, review of government and commercial solicitations and contracts, identification and avoidance of Organizational Conflicts of Interest, dispute resolution, and merger and acquisition due diligence support. Additional duties include heading up Ship Repair’s Ethics and Export Control programs and coordination and reporting duties for Ship Repair’s Environmental and Security programs.
Chris has been with the company since 1994 when he joined Southwest Marine in San Diego (now San Diego Ship Repair) as Contracts Counsel. Before joining SWM he was a Chief Engineer in the United States Merchant Marine, where he was responsible for operating, repairing and maintaining the vessels he sailed on. These ships included oil tankers, cargo vessels and bulk carriers. He also participated as an owner’s representative in a new building program for a series of oil tankers at National Steel and Shipbuilding Company in San Diego, and is a former customer of Norfolk ship repair.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering from Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine, and received a JD from San Diego University’s School of Law in San Diego, California. He is a member of the State Bar of California. |
