Christopher T. Holmes joined The South Financial Group in January 2006 as Executive Vice President, Director of Retail Banking. Mr. Holmes is responsible for developing and executing retail banking strategies for The South Financial Group’s subsidiary banks, Carolina First Bank and Mercantile Bank. Prior to joining The South Financial Group, Mr. Holmes spent 13 years with National Commerce Financial Corporation, an innovative retail banking organization. At National Commerce, Holmes served as Executive Vice President responsible for selling and implementing leadingbanking concepts to financial institutions throughout the United States, South America, and Europe. As President and CEO of National Commerce’s retail banking consulting unit, Holmes sold and implemented retail banking strategies to other leading retail banking organizations. Most recently, Mr. Holmes was President of the North Region for Trustmark National Bank. Mr. Holmes graduated from the University of Memphis. |
