Christopher, a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation group, focuses his practice primarily on representing individuals and businesses in disputes involving copyrights, trademarks, patents, advertising, right to publicity, nondisclosure agreements, and trade secrets. He also represents plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court in a variety of other matters, including complex commercial litigation, franchise disputes, antitrust, personal injury, and wrongful death. Christopher’s practice also encompasses intellectual property assessment and counseling, which involves helping clients identify and navigate intellectual property issues in their businesses both to protect their rights and avoid litigation. His work in this area includes conducting intellectual property assessments for one of the nation’s largest privately-held companies.Christopher makes pro bono work an essential part of his practice. He devotes his services to the Hennepin County Housing Court Project and the Children's Law Center, and regularly conducts legal clinics at the Division of Indian Work, which advocates for the American Indian population in the Minneapolis area. Before becoming an attorney, Christopher taught English at the University of Maine and for several years opened large bookstores along the East Coast and in Europe for Borders Group, Inc. He graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he served as Senior Articles Editor of the Iowa Law Review.In addition to his practice, Christopher holds a position as adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law, teaching in the area of legal writing. |
