Chris Mann's practice spans a wide range of areas, including private equity, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and privatizations, as well as project, infrastructure and strategic finance. He has acted frequently for sponsor and lending clients, hedge funds and private equity funds in equity and debt investments in oil and gas, mining, power, infrastructure, financial and other sectors in the United States, Latin America, southern Africa and elsewhere. Key assignments include Anglo American plc's acquisition of a 49% interest in the MMX Minas-Rio iron ore and port facility in Brazil and the project companies' pending project financings; Goldman Sachs Infrastructure Partners' significant investment in Carrix, Inc., the parent company of marine terminal operator SSA Marine; Mitsui USA's acquisition of Steel Technologies; the original project financing and recently completed restructuring of the Sincor extra heavy oil project in Venezuela, now known as PetroCedeño; the Camisea gas pipeline financing in Peru; the Kutubu oil development project financing in Papua New Guinea; and numerous privatizations in Italy and Argentina. Mr. Mann was in Sullivan & Cromwell's London office from 1993 to 1996. He is the former Chair of the Committee on Project Finance of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He currently is a Director of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, a member of the Audit Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, a Director of New York Downtown Hospital, and a Director and member of the Executive Committee of Wall Street Rising, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the revitalization of New York's financial district. |
