Dr. Christopher J. Progler was elected Vice President and Chief Technology Officer in 2004, after initially serving as the Company’s first Chief Scientist.
In this new position, Dr. Progler has primary responsibility for Photronics technology strategy and core technology assets including intellectual property, next generation developments and emerging technology partnerships.
Prior to joining Photronics, Dr. Progler held a number of technical and management positions with leading integrated circuit companies including IBM, Texas Instruments and ST Microelectronics. His collected work in R&D and advanced manufacturing over the past 17 years has yielded major advances at leading semiconductor and infrastructure supplier companies.
In recognition of his contributions to semiconductor lithographic sciences and publications, Dr. Progler was elected Fellow of SPIE- The International Society for Optical Engineering. Dr. Progler is also member of the Board of Directors of SPIE and serves on a number of leadership committees associated with the organization. He is Associate Editor for SPIE Journal of Microlithography and helped launch a number of new technical Symposia including the first Microlithography Symposium in Beijing China in 2004.
Dr. Progler serves on a number of corporate and consortia advisory boards, in addition to several working groups serving the semiconductor industry. He has held University Mentor positions through the Semiconductor Research Corp. and is visiting lecturer at University of Texas at Dallas in the Electrical Engineering graduate program. He is frequent invited speaker and panelist at semiconductor industry events and has published over 70 papers in the semiconductor field along with numerous patents.
Dr. Progler graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Optics from the University of Rochester and received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas. |
