Mr. Bowyer began his career at Dow Corning in 1986, when Hansil an adhesives and sealants manufacturing company at which he was managing director became a part of Dow Corning. In 1991, he was named manager for the European Construction Industry, moving to Brussels, Belgium. He became vice president of European Area Sales and Marketing four years later.
In 1999, Mr. Bowyer moved to the corporate headquarters in Midland, Michigan, as executive global industry director for Process Industries. He was named vice president and general manager of the Core Products Business in 2001, and was responsible for Construction, Engineered Elastomers Industry, and Xiameter, Dow Corning’s Web-based business model for volume buyers.
He was elected senior vice president by the Board of Directors in 2004, and was named to his current role, joining the OCEO, in July 2005.
In late 2005, Mr. Bowyer established the Greater China Council to facilitate Dow Corning’s growth and development in China. In his role as leader of the council, he spends much of his time in Shanghai.
In May of 2006 Mr. Bowyer was named executive vice president by the Board of Directors. |
