Christopher G. Chavez became President of St. Jude Medical's Neuromodulation business following the acquisition of Advanced Neuromodulation Systems (ANS), Inc. in November 2005. Mr. Chavez joined ANS as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director in April 1998. Mr. Chavez has served with several Fortune 500 companies in the medical device industry, including Johnson & Johnson Medical, Inc., a major division of Johnson & Johnson (J&J). There he progressed through several positions in finance, strategic planning, domestic and international marketing, new business development, and general management to the position of Vice President & General Manager of the Infection Prevention Business Unit, one of four worldwide business units with approximately half a billion dollars in sales. Prior to joining J&J, Mr. Chavez was Vice President of Worldwide Marketing and Strategic Planning for Eastman Kodak's Health Imaging Division, where the division's five worldwide profit centers reported to him. Mr. Chavez received his MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business in 1979. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors for Advanced Medical Optics, Inc. and the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA).
