Chris worked at Bessemer Venture Partners for fifteen years where he was one of the leading healthcare investors in the country. In this capacity, he and his partners managed over $1 billion of investments in dozens of young companies, a number of which have successfully become major biotech and high-tech firms pioneering new medical treatments, and new telecommunication and software technologies. Chris also served as a General Partner of Everest Ventures, a $680 million fund-of-funds that invested in 60 venture capital funds. Prior to his career at Bessemer, Chris founded and served as President and Chairman of Gabrieli Medical Information Systems, a healthcare services company that he took public and sold to a leading industry consolidator. Chris currently serves on the Board of Directors of two publicly traded companies, Isis Pharmaceuticals and EPIX Medical, where he is Chairman of the Board. He is also recognized as a civic leader in Boston's non-profit and public policy community serving on the boards of the Boston Foundation, Initiative for a Competitive Inner City, Boston's After-School For All Partnership, Boston Plan for Excellence in the Public Schools, and the Harvard School of Public Health. |
