Chris Weeks is a managing director and head of MBIA’s International operations based in London. He is also a member of the Executive Policy Committee, the senior policy-making arm of the company.
Prior to this position, Mr. Weeks was responsible for MBIA Insurance Corporation’s CDO and secondary markets activities within the Structured Finance Division at the company’s world headquarters in Armonk, New York. At MBIA, Mr. Weeks has worked in a variety of senior roles in the U.S.A., Asia and Europe. He joined MBIA in Paris as head of structured finance and secondary markets in Europe and then returned to his native Australia where he presided over MBIA’s insurance activities in Asia. Aside from the geographic reach, his job responsibilities have encompassed a broad spectrum of transactions within both structured and public finance.
Mr. Weeks has over 20 years of experience in the banking and insurance industries. Before he joined MBIA, he was responsible for Société Generale’s European securitization activities. He also worked in the bank’s Corporate Finance Division where he gained a broad base of experience including corporate lending, acquisition finance, project finance and taxed-based lending.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, he spent five years at KPMG Peat Marwick Mitchell as a member of the Audit Division. He was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia in 1984. |
