Chris is an associate in the litigation department and a member of the business disputes practice group. He focuses his practice on complex business litigation and has handled a wide variety of matters, including corporate and commercial disputes related to contracts; defamation; trade secrets; professional negligence; catastrophic torts; and private equity investments. Chris has experience, including first chair jury trial experience, litigating in both state and federal courts as well as in arbitration proceedings.
Representative Matters
Obtained permanent injunction in pro bono National Environmental Policy Act case against the United States Navy on behalf of two Eastern North Carolina counties to prevent construction of an outlying landing field.
Obtained defense verdict for NASCAR owner in multi-million dollar unfair and deceptive trade practices suit based on alleged defamation and wrongful interference with contract.
Defended major financial consulting company in New Jersey Federal Court against multi-million dollar claim for alleged misappropriation of trade secrets and business interference.
Defended multiple significant personal injury claims arising out of charter bus accident.
Defended and advised TV station in First Amendment issues.
Represented NASCAR owner in breach of contract suit.
Defense of physician and medical clinic in medical malpractice suit by former NFL player.
Defense of major law firm against claims of legal malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty.
Defended regional health system against claims brought by a physician who lost his hospital privileges.
