Dr. Christoph-Friedrich von Braun currently sits on the Board of Directors of Natural Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NPI).
Since March 1991, Dr. von Braun has been establishing consulting and research business in the areas of research, technology and organizational strategy, family business, and Japanese business issues. He is involved in consulting projects with major industrial and service corporations, government bodies, business associations and non-profit organizations.
Previously, Dr. von Braun was Manager of the Technology Strategy Dept., Corporate Research and Technology Division of Siemens AG. Prior to holding this position, he was the Manager of the Industrial Analysis Department, Siemens Kabushiki Kaisha in Tokyo, Japan. Dr. von Braun also held a position in the Corporate Planning Group, Siemens AG in Munich, Germany. He was responsible for the development of business strategies for various Siemens business groups and divisions. In 1989, while working for Siemens, Dr. von Braun went on a company-sponsored leave of absence to perform independent research in the United States, Europe and Japan. His focus of study was industrial and government technology policies, including their corporate, economic, organizational and social settings.
Prior to joining Siemens, Dr. von Braun was a consultant with Dorsch Consulting Engineering in Munich, Germany. He was involved in various consulting assignments for international organizations, governments and industrial clients in the areas of technology assessment, national, regional and urban development, administrative and technical infrastructure, traffic, and environmental planning.
Dr. von Braun maintains teaching assignments at the universities of Kiel, Chemnitz, Augsburg, MIT, the Technical University of Berlin and Japanese industrial organizations. He sits on the boards of several start-up ventures, technology incubators and non-profit teaching/research organizations in the U.S. and Germany. Since April of 2001, he has served as Secretary General of a major foundation that focuses on the promotion of transdisciplinary thinking and methods.
Dr. von Braun received his MSc in Technology Management from the Sloan School of Management, at MIT. He received a Ph.D. in Space Law from the University of Freiburg, Germany and a law degree from the Free University of Berlin. |
