Christine B. Wessel is an Associate in the Firm’s Business Practices Group in Orange County. She specializes in corporate matters, compliance and regulatory matters, financial services transactions and business practices. Ms. Wessel has advised on matters regarding the Investment Company Act of 1940, Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Securities Act of 1933, FINRA, and federal and state privacy regulations.
Prior to joining Buchalter, Ms. Wessel was an associate at Dechert LLP, where she advised investment companies, investment advisers, and fund boards of directors on a wide variety of matters, including corporate matters, compliance, regulatory inquiries, and enforcement matters.
Ms. Wessel served as a Judicial Extern for Associate Justice Richard Fybel of the California Court of Appeal, where she conducted legal research, attended court hearings, and drafted bench memoranda.
Ms. Wessel earned her J.D. at UCLA School of Law where she was a Symposium Editor for Journal of International Law and Foreign Affairs. She received her B.A. in Law and Society from University of California at Santa Barbara.
