Cristiano (Chris) V. Schena is a vice president of Caterpillar Inc., with responsibility for the company's Motion & Power Control Division. The MPC Division, with over 5,000 employees, has 42 facilities around the world. The Division manufactures and supports a wide range of components, many of which are used in Caterpillar products - including transmissions, hydraulics, electronic and electrical systems and specialty products.
Schena began his career at Caterpillar in 1972, and has held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility around the world in the areas of cost analysis, manufacturing, accounting and facility management. In 1986, Schena was named Business Analysis Manager in the company's corporate accounting office. In 1992, he was promoted to Product Source Planning Manager at the Technical Services Division.
In 1996, Schena became Managing Director of Caterpillar Brasil Ltda. In 2000, he assumed the positions of Managing Director of Caterpillar France S.A. and General Manager of Caterpillar's Product Development Division in Geneva, Switzerland. In 2002, he became Managing Director of the company's European operations in the Building Construction Products Division and, later that year, he was named a Caterpillar vice president of the Component Products & Control Systems Division, which was later renamed Motion & Power Control Division.
Prior to joining Caterpillar, Schena earned a degree in business administration from the Université de l'Etat ŕ Mons, Belgium, followed by an MBA in 1974. He later completed the advanced management program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Schena serves on a number of boards including Anchor Coupling Inc., EMC Testing Inc., the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE) and Rapisarda Industries S.r.l. |
