Christian (Chris) Cabou is Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Illumina. Mr. Cabou a 20-year veteran in engineering design and management prior to his career in law and intellectual property joined Illumina in May 2006 and has worldwide responsibility for all legal and intellectual property matters in addition to being responsible for the Company's human resources function. Mr. Cabou is also Illumina's Code of Ethics Compliance Officer. Before joining Illumina Chris spent five years as General Counsel for GE Global Research and before that was Senior Counsel of Global Intellectual Property for GE Medical Systems. Prior to his stint at GE Mr. Cabou spent seven years with the law firm Foley & Lardner where he was a partner.
Mr. Cabou received a J.D. from Northwestern University's School of Law (Chicago IL.) in addition to a Master of Engineering Management degree from Northwestern University. Mr. Cabou was awarded a MSEE (equivalent) degree from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (Paris France) and a Bachelor of Science (equivalent) degree from the Lycée Technique d'Etat (Armentières France). |
