Ms. Shaw's practice focuses on land use and real estate development matters. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Shaw served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Natural Resources Law Section of the California Attorney General's Office in Sacramento, where her civil environmental law practice focused largely on water quality, forestry, and air quality matters. Published decisions include Perry D. Cockshott v. Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, 125 Cal.App.4th 235, 22 Cal.Rptr.3d 675 (2004). Professional Activities - Ms. Shaw is a member of the State Bar of California. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Sierra Watch, an environmental advocacy organization dedicated to protecting the scenic, biological, and agricultural resources of the Sierra Nevada (www.sierrawatch.org). Before attending law school, Ms. Shaw was active for several years in the "smart growth" movement in the San Francisco Bay Area. As North Bay Field Director for Greenbelt Alliance, she worked with local governments and citizen groups in Sonoma, Solano, Marin and Napa Counties on various urban and rural land use policy issues and managed several successful land use-related ballot measure campaigns. Education - Ms. Shaw earned her law degree in 2001 from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, and is a graduate of UCLA Law's Program in Public Interest Law and Policy. Ms. Shaw's undergraduate degree in Political Science is also from UCLA. |
