Chris joined ABC 23 in September 2005 as a General Assignment Reporter. In June 2006 Chris became the Weekend Anchor for ABC 23 News at 6pm and 11pm, which he also produces and writes.
Chris is originally from San Diego and is glad to be back in his home state. Chris has a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a minor in Political Science.
Prior to coming to KERO, Chris worked for KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri. Chris worked as a reporter, anchor, producer, photographer and assignment editor at KOMU. He covered the state capitol in Jefferson City where he followed the 2004 governor's race, a speech by Vice President Dick Cheney and a Kerry-Edwards campaign rally at the Missouri Capitol grounds. He also briefly worked in radio while in Columbia,
doing news reports for KBIA-FM and sports reports for KCOU-FM.
Since coming to KERO Chris has had the opportunity to cover a great deal of stories in Kern County and throughout California. Chris had a one-on-one interview with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger prior to his 2005 Special Election in Fresno. Chris reported live for CNN in December 2006 as a wildfire scorched part of the Tejon Ranch near Interstate 5. In October 2007, Chris reported live from San Diego County as wildfires forced thousands to flee their homes. Chris hopes to continue telling the interesting and compelling stories from Kern County and California.
In addition, Chris enjoys reading about politics, hitting the gym and watching sports. He's a big Padres, Chargers and, of course, Mizzou Tigers fan. And likes going to The Vault for Condors hockey. |
