Christopher Thomas has been a real estate professional for almost 25 years. He joined Brown Harris Stevens in 2004 as Executive Vice President in Brooklyn Heights. Christopher Thomas is a former President and Director of Sales of William B. May Brooklyn, where he led that firm's annual growth of over twenty percent, consistently outpacing the increase in real estate values. He expanded the staff and established its reputation among industry insiders as the top producing local real estate team whose average experience was more than a decade representing buyers and sellers in Brooklyn's landmark neighborhoods. Christopher Thomas' route to real estate was indirect. Originally a teacher and a photographer, he taught photography and photo history at the University of Maryland. In 1975, he moved to Brownstone Brooklyn (Prospect Heights) when he was appointed to work in exhibitions production at the Museum of Modern Art, after which he specialized in architectural photography. In 1980, a developer for whom he had done photographic work invited him to run an on-site sales office at a condominium loft development in Cobble Hill. What began as just a weekend sideline, driven by love of period architecture and brownstone neighborhoods, has become a long and most rewarding career in real estate. |
