Christopher Pugh was named Corporate Vice President of Business Operations at Apogen Technologies in February 2004. Mr. Pugh brings more than 20 years of experience in business operations, including contract administration, accounting financial planning and analysis and strategic planning to this role.
Prior to joining Apogen, Mr. Pugh led the business operations organization for Lockheed Martin Information Technology’s (LMIT) newly formed Homeland Security Line of Business. Mr. Pugh hired, trained, developed and led a team of professionals responsible for cost management, contracts negotiations, financial planning and analysis and financial reporting for large performance based government contracts.
Prior to this position, Mr. Pugh was responsible for leading all aspects of business operations for Lockheed Martin’s IT Network Infrastructure contract with the Pentagon. At the time, this was LMIT’s largest awarded IT contract.
Mr. Pugh previously worked for Orbital Sciences until 2001, where he served as Director of Finance & Accounting for Orbital’s Space Division, which generated annual revenues in excess of $350 million. Prior to his position as Director, he held various finance positions with this company. Mr. Pugh began his career at Fairchild Space and Defense Company (acquired by Orbital in 1994) in 1986 as an analyst in the Financial Planning department and shortly thereafter was promoted to Finance Manager responsible for budgeting, government compliance and financial planning and analysis. Following Orbital’s acquisition of Fairchild in 1994, Mr. Pugh took a position as Finance Manager in the Corporate Office. In 1995, Mr. Pugh was promoted to Director of Finance and Accounting for a commercial startup division within Orbital.
Mr. Pugh received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Old Dominion University in 1982. Mr. Pugh completed some graduate course work in Business Administration at New Hampshire State College and passed the Certified Public Accountancy examination in 1995. |
