As the Vice President of Software (or, Geekherd) at SmartBrief, Chris McNeilly manages the technology team that prides itself on being efficient (or, cheap). For nearly 18 years, Chris has been involved in online publishing and electronic commerce specializing in text extraction and information retrieval. Prior to SmartBrief, Chris worked for e-commerce sites Simplexity and Thomson Financial Interactive building out high performance Web sites. He was a senior member of the Natural Language Processing lab at Thomson Labs as well as a Research Scientist for the Center for Machine Translation, specializing in Data Extraction. He has an MS from Carnegie Mellon University and a BS from Miami University. Chris can also write with his feet, a skill that although exceedingly rare, is nonetheless disappointingly undervalued by our society. |
