Mr. Mattison’s practice includes insurance coverage, toxic tort and environmental law, professional errors and omissions and technical litigation. Mr. Mattison leads the firm’s insurance practice area. His services include coverage advice, insurance coverage litigation, international insurance coverage disputes, extra-contractual litigation and professional errors and omissions pertaining to insurance. He is experienced in policy negotiation and claims relating to the specialized field of environmental insurance, including pollution liability, remediation stop loss and similar insurance designed to manage environmental risk. Mr. Mattison carries on an environmental practice that includes representation before regulatory agencies, litigation, compliance advice, insurance claims, remediation of contaminated property and environmental due diligence. His toxic tort experience includes asbestos, underground storage tanks, fuels, solvents, metals, fertilizers, mold and pesticides. Mr. Mattison is an experienced trial attorney. In addition to insurance, toxic tort and environmental litigation, he has handled professional errors and omissions, oil and gas matters, construction defects, product liability claims including aviation, machinery and automotive products and other complex, technical matters. Mr. Mattison’s background includes a bachelor of science in engineering and a master of environmental policy and management. He has authored a number of articles on environmental law and insurance and lectures on these topics. Prior to joining Hall & Evans, Mr. Mattison served as an Assistant County Attorney for Jefferson County, Colorado, where his practice concentrated on local government law and federal regulatory programs. |
