Chris Hegele joined Intersouth in 2003 to assist in deal sourcing, deal management, due diligence and mentoring.He is a long-standing member of the Southeast s venture capital community, having spent nearly 20 years as a general partner with Kitty Hawk Capital, a venture capital firm located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kitty Hawk was founded in 1980 and manages $100 million in four venture capital funds. He has served on the boards of numerous private companies and two public companies. At Kitty Hawk, Mr. Hegele had extensive co-investment activity with Intersouth and shared seven common investments, including current portfolio companies Biolex Therapeutics and Trinity Convergence.At Intersouth, Chris works with the life science portfolio and serves on the boards of four portfolio companies. He has served on the SEBIO steering committee and as the investor relations chair of the SEBIO Conference. Prior to joining Kitty Hawk in 1984, he was with Arthur Andersen & Co. in its Small Business Group. He holds a B.S. in Economics from University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he was recognized as an outstanding alumnus of the Cameron School of Business, and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. |
