Experience:
Prior to becoming a solicitor, Chris Fellowes worked as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, a Project Manager, and subsequently the Development Director of a property development company. He has significant experience of both non-contentious and contentious engineering and construction matters. His practice now focuses primarily on non-contentious matters, particularly in conjunction with real estate projects. He has acted for developers, employers, funders and contractors on a mixture of construction and engineering projects. He also advises financial institutions, tenants and investors on construction related documents and advises on PFI/PPP agreements and facilities management and maintenance contracts. On contentious matters Chris has acted on a number of adjudications, arbitrations, High Court actions and mediations for employers, contractors and sub-contractors.
Notable Engagements:
Advising on and drafting of construction related clauses in a number of development agreements for office and mixed use projects (values from £2 million to £100 million.)
Acting for a number of developers drafting a complete suite of project documents for new office developments.
Advising on and drafting an EPC contract and related contracts in respect of a £100 million waste project.
Acting for an employer in a series of four adjudications brought by a contractor regarding payment, defects and the determination of the contractor’s employment in respect of a £5 million residential project including related High Court proceedings.
Advising on the construction aspects of two data centre projects including drafting of full suite of construction documents, advising and reporting on the landlord’s construction documentation and drafting complex provisions relating to the handover of various phases of works including certification and signoff, access and joint working arrangements. |
